Seam Rite: Audition and Repair Loop Boundaries for FMOD

A local-first loop repair bench for game-audio designers removing clicks, level jumps, and DC bias before FMOD import.

Open the build →

Seam Rite is for game-audio designers preparing looping ambience and music stems for FMOD Studio. The recurring job arrives with every new recording, stem revision, and alternate loop length: remove the click at the wrap point, smooth the level jump, clear DC bias, audition the repaired seam, and export a middleware-safe WAV.

The usual workaround sprawls across a DAW and a file inspector. Designers duplicate the waveform, eyeball a short crossfade, audition the seam repeatedly, remove DC offset by hand, bounce, then inspect the WAV header before import. Seam Rite puts that repair loop into one explicit, reproducible pass.

Load the stereo 48 kHz harbor-room fixture, adjust crossfade length, choose the crossfade curve, and enable DC removal. Changes remain visibly pending until applied. The interface reports how many samples each control changed, while original and repaired audio stay phase-locked on one transport for direct audible A/B at the wrap boundary.

Each material control has an observable sample-domain effect on the canonical fixture. Crossfade length changes the repair window, curve changes its gain shape, and DC removal recenters the signal. Quantified evidence names those mutations after apply instead of burying them in a combined transform.

The auditioned repair and exported file share the same authored buffer. The committed validator checks stereo 16-bit PCM structure, 48 kHz sample rate, loop-repair metadata, duration, and the repaired boundary. Live verification opens the deployed app, runs the canonical harbor-room workflow, writes fresh WAV bytes, and reruns that validator against the result FMOD receives.
