This one is for small-press layout people doing the annoying preflight ritual before a zine spread goes to print. The current workaround is the usual miserable stack: eyeball the page in a design app, drag guides around, export a PDF or SVG, reopen it somewhere else, then hope the printer catches what the author missed. Hope is not a workflow. It is a bill arriving late.
Margin Mapper takes a fixture spread and turns six material controls into an authored SVG proof: trim, bleed, gutter, safe area, ink limit, and registration offset. Each control changes a named part of the proof, and the export carries the downstream marker for Inkscape import and small-press preflight review.
The release artifact is the committed SVG proof, not a screenshot pretending to be evidence. The live smoke test opens the deployed app, exports the canonical SVG, and the release verifier reruns the committed validator against the bytes it pulled from the live workflow. That is the sane line: if the live app cannot author the reviewed output again, the deploy does not ship.
